Anatomy of a Mashup
Check out this great animated info graphic that dissects a mashup of Daft Punk’s music. The entire piece is composed from the latest HTML5 and CSS3 technology. All of the waveform and spectrum visualisation is performed in realtime, so your browser is rendering a music video on the fly!
The Mountain
I have been insanely busy this month and there are ton of things I have been meaning to post but Jeff just sent me this video (a time-lapse film El Teide, Spain’s highest mountain) and it is so pretty and relaxing that I thought I would share this moment of Zen. Now back to work!

Before I Die...
I have been a fan of Candy Chang’s projets for a while now. I just came across this recent one and I think it is great! Candy turned the side of an abandoned house in New Orleans into a giant chalkboard where residents can fill in the blanks. She says, “It’s about turning a neglected space into a constructive one where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around...
Alba Alarm clock
I already liked the way that the Alba Alarm Clock looked when I saw it (I am a sucker for combining unexpected materials, so I love the blond wood with the orange rubber and the digital display) but when I found out that you can control the clock through an app on your phone, I fell in love. The app also allows you to wake to your own music or sounds! [via Design Crush]
Roar
I love this watercolor painting Danielle Rizzolo just did for an upcoming dinsour theme show called the Age of Reptiles at the Paradigm gallery in Philly.
Meowoodle
Need I say more? Meowoodle is my new favorite tumblr blog. Thanks for the like Karin!
Photoshop Window Alphabet
Emilio Gomariz noticed that Mac OS X remembers the positions of files and windows when you minimize them so instead created 114 Photoshop files, placed them in exacting position, then minimized them on the dock. When he re-opened them, in order, the alphabet unfolded. Cool! Except for the music… [via Gizmodo]
Scott Campbell’s Skin Flick
Scott Campell’s work is awesome — tattoos and art. Watch him talk about it on The Nowness. [via Deamplified]
The Time Teller
I can’t stop looking at watches lately even though I just bought 2 awesome ones from May28th. I already have a Nixon that I love, but their Time Teller watches are calling me (even if they are for men). The biggest problem would be choosing the color! [via Design Crush]

Tyvek Hand Bag
I have always loved seeing Tyvek (a synthetic paper that is extremely light but at the same time extremely robust, waterproof, tear-proof, 100% recyclable) used in creative ways. I especially love / want this bag by Saskia Diez. [via Whatever Forever]
Year of the Rabbit
Just came across this animated short. Year of the Rabbit from Frater. The year of the Rabbit – is supposed to be the opposite of the last. Whereas the Lion (RE: 2010) is full of ups and downs and topsy-turviness, the Rabbit is more consistent with lots of emphasis on following the path laid out for you. Thus far 2011 has not played quite so smooth for me, but we still have a ways to go —...
Interesting Nav - AIPAD site
AIPAD’s current site nav is really interesting, you can’t really understand it from the img I posted below, so go there and check it out.
It feels like there is a piece of paper with holes punched in it, on top of your mouse — which happens to be a color-changing tiddlywink, that is about 2/3 larger than the holes. The idea is great, but I do think the drop shadows are a bit heavy and...

Saturday Alarm Clocks
I thought this would be an appropriate Friday post considering that I know a few cats that have a very special way of ruining Saturday morning sleep-ins. Simon’s Cat series so amazingly on point. Thanks for the link Omri!
NoteSlate
NoteSlate doesn’t hit the market until June 2011 but I already want one. It is low cost tablet device with true one colour display, real paper look design, long life battery (180h !). Just one colour is enough to express the basics. Keep your life simple. You will love it. For $99.
Bear Flag Wine
Tonight as I picked up a bottle of wine, I thought there nothing is better than a good wine at a great price with an awesome label. Bear Flag is just that. On the bottle that I bought (white wine blend #1) there are check boxes for “like it” and “don’t like it” and a halfway line for the great optimist/pessimist debate. Go out and grab a bottle, enjoy!
MTA.me
If you haven’t seen this yet, you should. Brooklyn based Interactive designer and musician, Alexander Chen has created this great project, called Conductor, where he takes live information feeds from the MTA, and visualizes the train paths — a musical note is generated every time two trains cross paths. Very pretty, very cool. This is done with only, html 5 and java, crazy! [via file under]

Worry Wheel
The other day, my friend Nick pointed out that I am always worrying out about something… so as I just came across one of Andre Kuo’s worry wheels on FFFFFound it seemed appropriately to post it. Andrew Kuo is a NYC based artist who creates obsessive charts analyzing non-quantitative data. His diagrams represent his own sets of quirky data in various arrangements of color and pattern....

MoMA Membership Materials
There are a lot of great things about being a member of the MoMA. I always enjoy the materials they send when you renew (if only they would stop sending new cards). How great and unexpected is this knit version of their logo? Love!
Duck and Cover?
The US government has a new website, ready.gov with material that uses icons in the style of the old WWII “duck and cover” signs. These new icons are so ambiguous/bad that someone posted some hilarious interpretations here.

Tagging Chanel
This past week I attended a lecture by Tali Krakowsky the founder of Apologue called Design + The Digital: The Spaces in Between. I can’t believe I missed this while it was up. You can...
