Pleix/Vitalic: Birds
A friend of mine just sent me the link to this blast from the past. I used to be obsessed with this music video! It is still super amazing so I thought I would post it.

Holy USB Drive
Yesterday I was doing some research for a project I came across this custom USB drive. Apparently The Maria drive was a big hit in Europe and got a lot of PR attention for Valencian designer Luis de Eslava. Ha Ha, I love the box!

Fine Art?
…if you you want it to be. My friend, Ben Smart created these clever tags and gave them out with his holiday presents this year. Now anyone can decide what art is. Just fill out a tag and voila!

Christopher Wool
I am IN LOVE with Christopher Wool’s work. I saw one of his pieces (top right) at the MoMA last weekend. It is part of the Here Is Every. Four Decades of Contemporary Art exhibit.

Car Sales Down / Car Overstock Up
Check out these images — carmakers around the world are cutting production as inventories build up to unprecedented levels. Storage areas and docksides are now packed with vast expanses of unsold cars as demand slumps. [via IllSoul]

Soda Pop
Pepsi has taken a lot of flak for its recent and dramatic redrawing of the logo and distillation of the brand to a flat simplicity. For the most part I agree, but there was something I loved about being in this train surrounded by all these bright banners. I can’t say it is the best executed campaign or even a witty idea because truth be told it’s just not, but it is just soo different...

The 2008 Feltron Annual Report
If you don’t know designer, Nicholas Feltron’s Annual Reports, you should. For the past few years he has been producing an annual report that analyzes his habits, consumption, comings and goings, etc of each year. Nicholas’s specialty is creating great graphics that give weight to abstract and trivial matters. A playful wink to designers who have spent their careers developing...

Too Awesome to Name It
One of my good friends, Janka, recently returned from spending Christmas in Slovakia. One of the items Janka and her bf Joe brought back is this amazing shot tray. You can load up six shot glasses and ring the attached bell while bringing it over to your friends to alert everyone it is shot time! Apparently this simple and ingenious item is very common in Slovakia. I asked my friend Adela (also...

Unusual Suspects: Create New Face
Check out the latest great thing that Veer has come up with. Log-in and create your face. It’s way more fun that it sounds. Plus it forces us all to think back to self portraits in early art classes and all those key measurements that make a face look right. Veer really has a knack for creating fun promotions that appeal to designers. My whole creative department made their face last week....

2 Videos With Super Sweet Graphics
I love when music videos can be completely captivating by the simple use of colorful shapes that move and transition in complex ways. These music is good in these two videos also! [via The Walrus]

Super Typographic Sketch Process
I just came across some awesome work that my friend Nick posted on his lettering Flickr set. Nick does some really great things with type, but I especially love that he posted his process with this piece — from sketchbook to illustrator. Awesome!

A Great Way to Package Earings
For Christmas I was given a pair these very awesome painted wooden earings by Early Jewlery. Of course I love them, but I also love the way they came — packaged in a small linin bag and hooked through a branded (ahh double entendre) peice of leather.
