Sky Planters
I pretty much kill every plant I come in contact with (not before I give them all names of course) but I love these sky planters by Boskke. I wonder if I could manage to keep plants alive if they were upside down? My roommate heads out of town for Morocco today and I am in charge of her plants as well as her cat (the cat is easy) wish me luck! [via Design Crush]
Flicks from Prague / Slovakia
I had an amazing trip to Prague and Slovakia with my friend Janka but I am happy to be settling back into life in New York. Below is a sampling of my favorite photos from the trip. You can view my full flickr sets here. Needless to say, it was an incredible adventure and I meet some really great people.
VACA
I am heading out for an adventure to the Czech Republic and Slovakia today, so I won’t be posting for a bit BUT I will be searching out some great Eastern European design inspiration. In the meantime check out this great 1960s Czech street map I came across on Grain Edit.
Greg Lamarche / Scope
I went to the Scope Art Show this past Sunday and ran into my friend Nick (who started a new blog called fileunder.00one). He just posted Greg Lamarche’s work, who was work was at the show and I agree it was pretty cool stuff so I am re-posting it. [via] fileunder.00one
Art Farm
I saved this link a while ago but never posted it, because I wasn’t sure what to say about this art project of live tattooed pigs. I am finally posting it though because I like all the questions it raises for me — art vs tattoos, the validity of subjecting animals to pain vs subjecting ourselves to pain, the fact that tattoos seem ridiculous on pigs but not on humans, the proliferation of...
Can/Bottle/Can/Bottle
Check out this strange packaging for FlavH2O (random fruit soda that I found ad Duane Reade the other day). Bottle on the bottom can on top. I don’t know what the point is but I did buy it for the novelty of it…
Alarmed Viewers!
I just like this image, but also I think that man’s weave might be too tight, bleeding scalp! [via Eric’s Today : 3.05]
OK Go - This Too Shall Pass
They have done it again — another great homemade music video by OK Go. Check it out.
Le Whif
Le Whif is a new approch to eating by breathing. You inhale in your mouth to taste it without chewing and you can experience the flavor without a single calorie. This kind of sounds like it was invented by super models but who cares, this is awesome I want to try it!
Triboro's One-color Subway Map
Brooklyn based design duo David Heasty & Stefanie Weigler of Triboro Design have produced a new New York City subway map printed in a single color — florescent red. The map has been printed in a limited edition (offset litho) run of only 300 pieces. At 45 x 58 inches the poster is the same size as the large MTA Subway maps. Pretty cool, although I am still partial to Eddie...
