While out listening to my friend Pia Vivas DJ last week, she introduced me to her friend Adam Harvey who is working on an incredibly interesting thesis. Adam has developed warpaint like make-up that resists face recognition technology. CV Dazzle (or computer vision camouflage) has recently gotten a fair amount a press. You can learn more on his blog and I think this Reuters video does a great job explaining the project.
For some reason Robyn (the 90’s Swedish pop-star) keeps popping into my life lately. Her new single “Dancing On My Own” made it onto this week’s NY Mag Approval Matrix and as I was just searching around for some web design inspiration I came across this 3/D interactive video with Twitter integration for her song “Don’t F**ing Tell Me What To Do.” The first half of the video is a 3D visualization of Robyn’s gripes, the second half is a feed of the twitter tag #killing me, incorporating everyone’s gripes. Interesting combination of trends: twitter/rise of web based music videos/the 3D craze. [via the FWA]
My friend Danielle sent me a link to the blog Catalog Living the other day. It’s kinda amazing — it makes fun of over-styled catalog photos. Genius.
The past few weeks have been CRAZY BUSY, but Karin sent me a link to this poster by The Small Stakes that made my day, so I figured the least I could do was post it up to share. 2 of my most favorite things in the word, cats and bikes!
My friend Nick just sent me this. Not gonna lie, I kinda wish this was my tattoo — as Nikc put it, “this unicorn is legit”!
Thought I’d share something a little lighter after my last post. Check out this video by Alex Mestrot & Tom Chosson that my friend Gary sent me.
