ArtBridge 2010: In Plain Site

ArtBridge 2010: In Plain Site is the organization’s second collaboration with historic Chelsea building, London Terrace Gardens. The show features the work of 25 emerging to mid-career artists on the building’s scaffolding — pretty cool legal street art. Also, if you haven’t heard of The Underbelly Project yet, check out this amazing underground street art project.

Martha Makes Cookies by Callaway Digital Arts

We are so excited about the release of our first Martha Stewart App, Martha Makes Cookies. I can’t take too much credit, but I did get to work on some layouts during my first week working at Callaway Digital Arts. Keep an eye out for more great Apps from us. Martha is also very excited, she did a whole cookie show dedicated to the App on Monday, you can watch clips here and spy on some of my coworkers in the audience too!

Herbavor

At this point, I don’t even know how I came across this comic, but I love it! A little dinosaur, vegetarian, hummus humor for a Friday!

Tristan Perich’s 1-Bit Symphony

This concept album is amazing (looking at least). Although I wouldn’t want to listen to this for an extended amount of time the idea is great. Basically, it is an electronic composition in five movements on a single microchip that is housed in a jewel case. If you watch the video on his site the project becomes much more interesting on a conceptual level, although there is a part of me that doesn’t care that he is delivering anything in a jewel case — that method of music delivery seems far outdated anyway. Above all, I love the graphic forms that are functional but also really beautiful.

Tron Legacy Couture?

Disney just announced a new Tron-inspired couture collection of jewelry, shoes, and accessories, ranging in price from $90 to $2,600. This limited edition 5-inch high heeled platforms were designed by  Jerome C. Rousseau and will go for $795. The shoe will be exclusively sold at the Tron Pop-Up Shop, set to launch in Los Angeles this November. Damn Disney, way to expand into new markets! I think this is totally weird, but also a really interesting promotion. [via The NY Mag Culture Vulture and Urban Mogul Life]

Rent is Too Damn High

So I know we all loved Obama’s campaign (from a design standpoint, if nothing else) but talk about a winning tag-line from Jimmy Mcmillan, who was part of the New York Governor Race. Please go to his site, while the design leaves a lot to be desired, crank the volume up and enjoy his campaign jam! He does have a point though…

That’s My Bike!

Nothing I love more than typography and bikes! These are concept sketches — obviously they are missing some basics parts (gears, chains, pedals…) but designer Juri Zaech is trying to figure out a way to actually make a prototype of one of the bikes. Talk about bespoke! Thanks for the link Jeff. [via Gizmodo]
