Häagen-Dazs : five

I just came across Häagen-Dazs’ new line of ice cream called five — the premise is that each flavor in the line has only 5 ingredients — the flavors sound delicious and the packaging (while not revolutionary) stands apart as clean and pure compared to their other products.

I am definitely attracted to the idea of simpler ingredients in our foods, and as it turns out I fall into the market targeted by Häagen-Dazs’ grass roots marketing efforts. I came across the new product on SheSpeak’s and as I was telling my co-workers about it, my creative director pointed me to an article on Brandweek further explaining the non-traditional marketing approach for this new product (which was introduced through SheSpeaks and spread to bloggers). Interesting stuff. Anyway, most importantly, I am really excited to try the ginger flavor!
