Graffiti Stickers Become a Hotel Mural
Bronx-born artist, Michael Anderson, has been collecting graffiti stickers since the early nineties. His collection now numbers at least 40,000. Last April, the owners of the new Ace Hotel at 29th and Broadway came calling with a mural commission which Anderson completed last month. The Mural consists of 4,000 or so stickers scanned from Anderson’s notebooks, printed in black-and-white on silk paper. I kind of love it, even though a lot of street artists are up in arms about the re-appropriation of these pieces that were intended for the street only. Read more at NYMag.com
