Stranahans Colorado Whiskey

When I was out in Denver for the holidays I visited Stranahans’ new distillery (they used to share a space with the Flying Dog brewery — this is how I first learned about them 3 years ago). The best part of any tour is always the tasting, but I was equally excited to learn how DIY their bottling production is. For every new batch they entice a team of volunteers (with the lure of a free bottle of whiskey) to help bottle, seal and apply labels. If I lived in CO, I would be bottling all the time!

Also check out the packaging — each batch is signed by the distiller with a note describing what they where doing/thinking about when making the batch. The bottle top converts into a tin cup for classy on-the-go sippin’! Their promotional posters are great too. Warning this stuff is a bit pricey and pretty strong, but very good!
