I have been a fan of Candy Chang’s projets for a while now. I just came across this recent one and I think it is great! Candy turned the side of an abandoned house in New Orleans into a giant chalkboard where residents can fill in the blanks. She says, “It’s about turning a neglected space into a constructive one where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around us.” You can read more about the project here.

I already liked the way that the Alba Alarm Clock looked when I saw it (I am a sucker for combining unexpected materials, so I love the blond wood with the orange rubber and the digital display) but when I found out that you can control the clock through an app on your phone, I fell in love. The app also allows you to wake to your own music or sounds! [via Design Crush]

Photoshop Window Alphabet

Emilio Gomariz noticed that Mac OS X remembers the positions of files and windows when you minimize them so instead created 114 Photoshop files, placed them in exacting position, then minimized them on the dock. When he re-opened them, in order, the alphabet unfolded. Cool! Except for the music… [via Gizmodo]
